Configuring Integration

Before you can send parts to your dealer business system (DBS), you will need to configure the integration tools you plan to use.

Note: Configuring the correct integration type requires some technical knowledge about your DBS and your network setup. If you do not know which type of integration to select, please contact your system administrator or your DBS provider for more information.

  1. At the top of the screen, select Integration from the Manage menu to open the Integration Setup window.

  1. Click the New button to configure a new integration.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow in the Type field to select an integration type. The fields in the Integration Setup window change according to the type selected.

Note: Available integration types may vary. When you finish configuring an integration type, the integration is listed in the Integration Setup window.

Tip: If you configure more than one integration, you can choose which one is the default. From the list of Configured Integrations in the Integration Setup window, highlight one and click the Set Default button to the right.

Specific Integrations

Click the integration types below to see instructions for configuring each.

ClosedBDDI-4

BDDI-4 enhances the EPC's interaction with approved systems by displaying real-time part availability and pricing information, from the integrated system, directly in the EPC picklist. The DBS must develop a Web service to integrate at this level.

  1. Select BDDI-4 from the Integration Setup window's Type list box.
  2. Enter a name to identify the integration. This name should describe the system with which you are integrating.

  3. Enter the applicable URL.

  4. Click the Verify button to confirm the connection to the URL. If "Unauthorized" appears, you must enter a username and password for the DBS.
  5. Once the URL has been verified, a list of available services appears. Select those that apply (All Services is the default).
  6. Click the Next button. A list of columns appears. Select the columns you want.

  7. Click Next and select Everyone in my dealership or Just me.

  8. Click Next. A screen shows that you have configured the file successfully.
  9. Click Finish. The configuration is listed in the Integration Setup window.
ClosedBSI (previously used with PartsManager Pro™)

BSI prices and additional information enhances Parts ADVISOR's interaction with approved systems by displaying real-time part availability and pricing information, from the integrated system, directly in the picklist and in the part details window.

  1. Select BSI from the Integration Setup window's Type list box.
  2. Enter a name to identify the integration. This name should describe the system with which you are integrating. Example: 1 or D1
  3. Enter the Properties provided by your DBS provider.
  4. Click Next and select the manufacturer to which the file applies.
  5. Click Next and select Everyone in my dealership or Just me.
  6. Click Next. A screen shows that you have configured the file successfully.
  7. Click Finish. The configuration is listed in the Integration Setup window.
