Searching for Parts

Once you have selected a product, you can search for a part by FIG, FIGKEY, part name or number. If you have not yet navigated to a catalog, you can search for parts by full part number only.

Tip: You can perform a global search for History or Supersession without first setting the catalog.

  1. Type your search criteria (two characters minimum):

  1. Click the Search button or press the ENTER key. The search results appear:

  1. Click a part description from the list to go directly to the appropriate parts list and illustration.

Understanding the Search Results

Element Function
Click this icon to add the part to the current picklist.
Click this icon to see a preview of the Illustration without leaving the search results.
Click the blue underlined part number to open the part details display.
BOLT Click anywhere in the search result except the part number to go directly to the appropriate parts list and illustration.

Search Tips

Part Number Format: Part number searches will vary, depending on whether you have selected 8-digit or 10-digit part number format in the Product Settings.

You can use spaces, punctuation, and Boolean operators to enhance the accuracy of your search.

Search Terms Entered Result
water pump All parts that include both "water" and "pump."
water,pump All parts that include both "water" and "pump."
water AND pump All parts that include both "water" and "pump." Note: You must use the English version of "AND." Translated versions will not work.
water OR pump All parts that include either "water" or "pump." Note: You must use the English version of "OR." Translated versions will not work.
waterpump All parts that include "waterpump" but not those that include only "water" or "pump" by itself. Note: This applies even in languages that do not normally put spaces or punctuation between words.
water PUMP All parts that include both "water" and "pump." Lowercase and Uppercase letters are interchangeable in searches in Latin and Cyrillic alphabets.

Using Search History to Repeat a Search

EQ-Hit records the last 15 search terms entered into the search field.

  1. Click the search box arrow to open the list of previous searches.

  1. Click the previous search you wish to repeat.
